Mark Forchette - CEO

Mark is a seasoned medical device executive with over 42 years of experience leading market transformations. He has driven six major industry transformations, developed innovative business strategies, and led three successful mergers and acquisitions. Mark's leadership spans commercialization, regulatory compliance, and value creation, including guiding commercial success in technologies like the Alcon Vitreoretinal Portfolio, Pascal Laser System, and Catalys Laser Cataract System.

Gregg Scheller - President

Gregg Scheller is a serial medical device entrepreneur and prolific inventor with more than 375 patents and applications across ophthalmology and neurosurgery. He founded and led four consecutive medical device companies, most recently as CEO of Katalyst Surgical and Chairman of Kogent Surgical, and previously as Head of Surgical Innovation at Zeiss. Earlier, he took Synergetics, Inc. from his garage to a NASDAQ listing, growing it into a 400-employee public company.

Eugene de Juan, MD - Chairman of the Board

Dr. de Juan is a renowned retina specialist and surgeon. His research focuses on medical and surgical treatments for ocular disorders, including advances in ocular drug delivery and drug delivery techniques for age-related macular degeneration. Dr. De Juan holds more than 100 patents for novel surgical devices.

Hugo Peris - Board Member

Hugo Peris is a pharma executive with extensive experience in medical devices, drug delivery, and drug development. He is co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Spiral Therapeutics, developing treatments for inner ear disorders. Prior to their acquisition in 2021 by China Medical System, he was a board member and led business development at Luqa Pharmaceuticals (China) for nearly a decade.

Charles Limb, MD - Chair MAB

Dr. Charles Limb is a surgeon, neuroscientist, and musician at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) who has carried out research on the neural basis of musical creativity and the impact of cochlear implants on music perception in hearing impaired individuals. As an otologic surgeon and otolaryngologist, he specializes in treatment of ear disorders.
